The Foundation Council has drawn up a more precise definition of these priorities to make them easier to understand. In addition, the following principles are applied:
The Humanitarian Foundation prioritizes projects that multiply, scale or roll out proven approaches (funding principle A). We also prioritize projects that are developed and carried out collaboratively by several stakeholders (funding principle B).
The allocation guidelines specify the conditions and criteria for the foundation's funding (see link in the box on the right).
The annual funding allocations correspond in principle to the anticipated foundation’s annual direct net income. Allocations are either direct disbursements or provisions for approved funding.
Existing projects are only supported if they cannot be funded by donations, contributions or bequests, but are important for achieving the SRC's objectives. Contributions are generally not made for maintaining infrastructures or covering general operating costs and deficits.
The SRC Humanitarian Foundation’s Foundation Council makes the final decision about applications. A brief explanation is given in the event of a refusal.
Applications and all related documentation such as the project description, interim report and final report must be submitted in German, French or English. An electronic translation (e.g. deepl.com) is sufficient.
